Project Davros

The dalek regeneration project

Welcome geeks and whovians alike,

Mid 2025 I was asked if I would be interested in a wonderful project, 2 full size Daleks that where in need of both a home and some care.  The pair of them are named Dalek Clara and Dalek Dale-k, and they where build by a PNW local artist named Shaylee Bell. I personally never met her her work has inspired me to not only restore but do minor upgrades, and build my own Dalek as well.

This page, and my Paetron will be where I put the best photos and updates about my progress and journey.

A bit about Shaylee Bell

For over 10 years Shaylee was a familiar and welcome sight at science fiction, fantasy, and horror conventions in the Pacific Northwest, bringing life to The Daleks

She completed two Dalek builds - Dalek Clara and Dalek Dale-K. Both builds were seen around Washington state at conventions, celebrations, Pride Parades, presentations, or just strolling the streets or riding the Light Rail.

Shaylee built and rebuilt the Daleks in her small apartment, spending countless hours to provide entertainment and education about Doctor Who and UK shows and movies.

Shaylee passed away on July 3, 2024 after a long struggle with multiple cancers

New Studio Residents

Over the months of April and May the studio has had 2 new residents move in... A pair of Daleks!!

Thats right, I have welcomed Clara and Dale-k The seattle Daleks into my studio as they where in need of some "regeneration" and repairs.  This is what seems to be a long term residency with hopes of not only regeneration but upgrades and improvements.
Along with Clara and Dale-k I will be building another of my own along side them.

And so begins Project Davros!!

Please check back here often for updates and progress entries as my work continues!

Fresh Paint!

Over the first part of august I have been working hard on matching paints and shaping foam to restore Clara's exterior after what seems like a few years of bumps and knocks.
Fresh surfacing and hemispheres for her skirt too.

I have made some aesthetic decisions such as new Pride flag colors to bring a new pop to her, and to purposely leave evidence or "scars" where some of the larger restores took place on her torso.

Next stage begins after Halloween and that will be the electronics rebuild and design process.
