Just around the time disney's Mando was first airing, I delved in to the lore and history before even first seeing Din and Grogu on screen. As I immersed my self in the lore of the Mandalore and the creed and culture surrounding it I felt the urge to design and build my own armor and costume.
What follow is my journey in making that concept come to life...
It took some time to learn the patern making and sewing machine skills to make the proper alterations to the jumpsuit I found to be the base of the kit. This took me 3 attemps and subsuquetly 3 times removing all my work. However after much strive I succeeded in a nice fit with limited sag.
After all that struggle the under vest for the plates was actually rather easy after i got the pattern tuned in.
Making my own Mandalorian armor and gear had to start with tools and prototypes. I dug in to some traditional armor making techniques and found the rounding dish design. then set forth attempting a helmet. Later I would learn that id done it wrong, but learning is soo much fun!
